Five quilted works developed from sketchbook drawings. Pleats and folds
as design inspiration are used to simulate structural forms on a two-dimensional
plane. Holding these pleats in place by pinning and tacking allows for
further points of emphasis. Hand dyed natural scoured cotton, pieced,
applied bonded designs, additional colour and three-dimensional effects
added with Litho coal. Heavily machine quilted with Armo fleece wadding.
Bound edges. Made for 'SIX Drawn Together' touring exhibition. 'Pleats
and Pins in Blue' was my entry for the Quilters Guild Challenge 2005.
