The Textile Study Group, formerly known as the Practical Study Group, is a diverse group of qualified, nationally and internationally renowned textile artists and tutors, who have established a reputation for excellence since its inception over 25 years ago. The group exhibits regularly at prestigious venues internationally and throughout the UK. Members of the group have published numerous books over the years.

Julia Caprara School of Textile Arts offers the opportunity to study on its unique distance-learning course leading to a BA(Hons) in Embroidered Textiles, validated by Middlesex University. This is a well-established course which since 1998 has educated a motivated group of graduates creating innovative contemporary textile art. Many of their graduates go on to establish successful textile art practices, become tutors at prestigious Art Colleges, or go on to study for higher degrees.
