June 2009
I am so pleased that you are reading this as it gives me the chance
to let you know what I have been up to this year and to invite you to
my Open Studio this summer.
I have had such a great year working with some fantastic students who
have supported my teaching on a regular basis within a very ‘intimate’ studio
space, but we are now looking forward to moving into the larger space
and welcoming with us some new students. The plastering and painting
has now been completed and I now eagerly await the flooring to go down.
Even the garden is beginning to look really great.
The programme is also coming together with yet again a large percentage
of students returning on continuing courses. Please look to see whether
there is anything that suits your needs... maybe just a
day course initially might be what you are after. If not, longer on-going
courses will give you something to get your teeth into.
To really get a feel of things, why not try and visit the studio on
my Open Weekend on 15th and 16th August 2009. You will arrive to a welcoming
drink, be able to see work on display, discuss courses and those of
you travelling any distance be assured of a bowl of homemade soup to
keep you going. The local Embroiderers Guild branch will also be present
with some of their work on show and I believe may have a few other treats
up their sleeve.
For those of you who do not know me, I am a teacher and professional
textile artist with an abundance of experience and enthusiasm. I love
my teaching and although courses can be stretching and hard work they
are also great fun. Students leave feeling proud of their achievements.
Excellent tutors are also supporting my programme and providing further
tantalising courses to attend. So please come and visit us in this Area
of Outstanding Natural Beauty in South Shropshire.
Finally on the domestic front, the kittens are now nearly fully grown
and continue to give so much pleasure and still come on daily walks
with our two dogs!!!!
Bye for now
Bobby
