Spring 2007

As promised, September 2007 will see the start of new courses running from Moor Hall Farmhouse in South Shropshire. Unfortunately the new building I had hoped for has not been started as yet, but I am still hopeful that this will be happening in the future. Meanwhile students can have the privilege of working in my own studio, within my home. How’s that for sharing!!! So I have, what I hope is an exciting set of workshops planned. Information of these workshops and the booking form can be obtained from this website (click on workshops). I hope that there will be something of interest for you?

Teaching at Westhope College continues to play a dominant role at the moment with students getting ready for their City and Guilds exhibition. This takes place at Westhope College, Craven arms, Shropshire on Saturday 7th
July and Sunday 8th July 2007. Open 10.00 ~ 4.30pm. There will also be a craft fair in the nearby village hall, which proved very successful last year. All in all a good day out. Unfortunately because of my new venture of starting courses at my home it has been necessary to hand in my notice at Westhope, so this exhibition will be my last one there. I would like to say a huge thank you to Anne Dyer and the staff and all the wonderful students who I have had the privilege to teach over the past 12 years.

The exhibiting group SIX is still busy working on their touring exhibition, ‘Six Stories’, which has now been returned from Vancouver and will be next on show at Art Van Go in Knebworth. We were delighted that Catherine Nicholls agreed to become our 6th member and she has already made such enormous contributions to the group. Please see our website for further details of this tour as they become available. www.sixart.co.uk.

Linda and Laura Kemshall along with Catherine are embarking on an extremely exciting new venture. Thr3fold ~ ‘the journal of creative vision’, promises to be a journal filled with inspirational articles, projects and information covering a broad spectrum of creative subjects including, quilting, drawing, painting, printing, embroidery, knitting and collage. It will consist of 52 pages gloriously illustrated in full colour and a CD packed with further information including printable patterns, copyright free images and video demonstrations. For further information visit their website www.thr3foldjournal.com.

I hope you all have a good summer holiday and that I get to see many of you on my workshops in autumn. I am off now to check on my sheep to see if they have lambed yet!!!!
