MATTHEW HARRIS
From Parts to a Whole

An excellent first part to a two-part course. Matthew excelled once again and the students left bubbling with enthusiasm, eager to return in September.

ANYONE WHO HAS DONE A COURSE WITH MATTHEW CAN BE CONSIDERED FOR JOINING THE PART 2 COURSE WHERE THE EMPHASIS WILL BE ON ONE TO ONE MENTORING, DISCUSSION AND REFLECTION.

COURSE  DATES:     12/13 Sept (Mon/Tues)

THIS IS SOME OF THE WORK PRODUCED ON PART 1

DIANE BATES

The students learnt so much on this course. Each were gently guided down appropriate paths and the results were stunning. Diane is a highly experienced teacher who can get so much from her students. It was lots of hard work, but enormous amounts of fun as well.

ALICIA MERRETT

Alicia brought her own unique skills and experiences to Moor Hall, with her wonderful patchwork and quilted maps. She also brought a new set of students, whom I am hoping will return.
Here are the results.

AMANDA CLAYTON
July 9/10
'From a distance'

Mandy comes to Moor Hall, full of experience, having taught colour theory and design for over 35 years on a foundation Course. She understands the needs of students of all ages and can readily motivate, challenge and enthuse.  This next one in July will have Mandy discussing with the students 'colour' and will be questioning the meaning of abstraction.

On the first day you will be working from a simple still life set up to explore in coloured papers (especially considering tone), both small and large scale compositions and considering the meaning of representational and abstract.  On the second day you will be working with cloth, stitching and playing with the first days compositions, producing a series of pieces. Students can choose to work in monochrome or full colour. You  will be asked to bring in your favourite scrap bags of cloth, threads and paper which will make your work even more personal.
