I need to tell you what I have been up to. Life at Moor Hall is not just about courses. I do manage to find time for my own work and getting that balance is really important. Mind you there is nothing like a deadline is there and the first of several is slowly looming up.

I am continuing to use bark cloth for my next piece of work and as a reminder this is what it is like. This is the cream version of bark cloth which grows near to Lake Victoria. It comes from the Mutuba Tree, which is part of the fig tree family.


So before I let you see how my work is developing here are some important dates for your diaries.

Launched at the Select Festival 2017, Stroud, Gloucestershire

Exhibition dates:
Museum in the Park, GL5 4AF         2nd - 21st May
Lansdown Hall Gallery, GL5 1BB     3rd - 21st May
Official opening                                 5th May (both venues)
Symposium, Lansdown                     6th May

This new major exhibition by the Textile Study Group will be accompanied by associated workshops, gallery events and a publication. It is being curated by Dr Melanie Miller and will be presented by SIT select as part of the Select Festival in Stroud.
 
Members of the The Textile Study Group will also be offering a  lively programme of half day, full day and two day workshops and gallery events which will provide opportunities for participation, learning and discussion during the Select Festival.
 
In addition SIT select will be holding a symposium on Saturday 6th May Dis/rupting Tradition: New Textile Languages linked to the DIS/rupt project and focusing on the theme of disrupting tradition. This event will feature contributions from Dr Melanie Miller, Alice Kettle, June Hill and Michelle Stephens.
