HELLO TO YOU ALL

Well I am certainly not short of news. It is more of a question of where to begin!!

I am still owing you images from teaching at Art Van Go on 4th and 5th April, from visiting Lechaurs in Dundee on 21st to 24th April, of teaching in Frodsham on 27th April and of course our Textile Study Group Exhibition which is still showing in Stroud.

I will start with DIS/rupt in Stroud which is receiving great reviews. This one is from  Arts Council England!

"Very impressed, not only by how DIS/rupt addresses the challenges we face at personal and global levels, but also how artists and makers have chosen to disrupt and challenge their own practices -innovative and powerful - thank you"

Phil Gibby Area Director South West. Arts Council England.

ART VAN GO
4th and 5th May 2017

I had a great two days of drawing at ART VAN GO last month, with some lovely students.

Here are just a few examples of the work produced.
This was the first exercise which introduces students to space in a drawing.

Another exercise explored more expressive responses with the media.

This project looked at a more linear way of working, using birds as a source material and pastels to create colourful works.

In these examples students began drawing with candle and some wax crayons. When painted over with wet media the drawn lines became evident.

There was a fabulous final piece that the students also completed, but for some reason I do not images of these. Any student looking in please send me the final image if you can?
Sorry for delay in posting these works and thank you ART VAN GO
DUNDEE
Regional AGM

I was thrilled to be invited to Dundee to be one of the speakers at their fabulous regional day on 22nd April. It was a great occasion and I stayed on an extra day to teach a drawing workshop with some enthusiastic students. Now for the first time I did not have a camera with me, as I was travelling by train, but just maybe I will be sent some by one or two or the ladies on the course and then I will be able to share these with you!!!! Thank you Dundee.

Contemporary Quilt Group
FRODSHAM
27th April

This was my Ben Nicholson workshop and I am grateful to Judy Fairless for sending me these images. We had a really productive day and students even got on to some stitching. Some fab results. Well done to you all.
