HI EVERYONE

Tomorrow I am back in Stroud to steward our exhibition DIS/ rupt and to deliver my two half day courses using Bark Cloth. I will be there with Sarah Burgess who will also be doing two half day courses. Do check these opportunities by going to the SIT select website. My Friday one I believe is full but there are spaces on the Thursday course and it is still possible that Sarah has a space or two.

Bobby Britnell ~ Thursday ~ 10.00 - 12.30
Barkcloth is one of the worlds oldest non-woven materials from Uganda. It is not commonly used in this country and this workshop will 'disrupt' peoples normal working methods by introducing students to this unique cloth. We will employ traditional techniques from Uganda alongside more conventional techniques. A fun course for beginners and more advanced students.

Sarah Burgess ~ Friday 19th ~ 10.00 - 12.30
Come and explore a range of mono-print and stitch methods on paper and cloth using provided "found" objects as both working tools and design inspiration. Stimulated by "accidental" interventions we will work with mark-making, repeat, changes of scale and cut-outs to produce a length of collage and stitch with ideas that you could develop in your own time.

Venue:
Centre for Science & Arts, 13 Lansdown, Stroud GL5 1BB

The exhibition is well worth a visit if you have not done so already. I shall be at the Lansdown Gallery on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning alternating with Sarah, so please do come and say hello.

This is Sarah's work. The piece on the right has slowly been changing over the weeks. If reflects rising sea levels. Do come along and see the changes for yourself.
The exhibitions end on Sunday May 21st, so do get there.
