Using a selection of silk, cotton, linen and viscose fabrics investigate different methods of using Procion Dye to create a glorious range of fabrics. Use these fabrics to create rich layered stitched pieces as well as exploring exciting colour combinations.
A three day course when students will have the opportunity to firstly dye a range of fabrics, a rich palette of colour and then combine these fabrics with colourful stitch.
This course will undertake to enhance understanding and experience of the use of dyed colour, mixing and combining colour with different fabrics and fibres. Exploring the possibilities of layering both fabric and stitch to create colourful stitched surfaces, students will be challenged to venture into new and uncharted territory as well as build from their personal comfort zones!
Suitable for those with some experience who wish to explore the creation of glorious colour combinations.
Additional charge for dyes and some materials ~ approximately £10
| Workshops are based at my home, Moor Hall in South Shropshire. The sessions run from 10am to 4pm. You can arrive from 9.30 for refreshments. Please bring a packed lunch.
