ONWARDS and UPWARDS

Following on from my last newsletter a huge thank you to all the replies that I have received in helping me get back on track after my laptop crashed. There are still a few more people I need to hear from.

What I would like you to do if you have booked on a course is CONFIRM the following details by EMAIL
  • The course/s you have booked on. (I do have a record of most people, but only from those who have completed an on-line booking form)
  • If you have paid a deposit (how much)
  • If you have paid the full amount.
  • If you think you are on a reserve list for any of the courses please let me know.
I am currently using my gmail account, but please keep emailing me at bobby@bobbybritnell.co.uk or use this LINK
Although I can access incoming emails, I have no record of replies that I have made to people in 2017. Thank you once again for your help.

PLEASE READ ON AS IT STARTS TO GET COLOURFUL ONCE AGAIN!!!!!

A FEW COURSES COMING UP

BOBBY BRITNELL

'Everyone can Draw'       6/7 April                       £130 for 2 days

I believe I can inspire you to draw. That's if you want to learn! Its funny that as we get older we become more fearful of making a mark on paper, but it really is not so difficult. I would suggest that if you can write you name then you can draw, but you just might need a little bit of guidance along the way. So please join me.

This is work produced by students on last years course.

JENNIFER COLLIER

'Paper Lampshades'               16/17 April                 £130 for 2 days

Described by Jennifer as 'luxury' lampshades and that is what they certainly are. You will create  your own beautiful recycled paper lampshade using lovely vintage papers and by upcycling existing frames. You will be shown all steps of the process, from how to create a pattern to fit your frame, to how to stitch the papers together to form the shade.

You  will also be taught embellishment techniques, such as embossing, stamping, and various hand and machine stitches to decorate your light shade. Jennifer will provide all materials but asks students to bring along any special maps, papers, or books you may wish to incorporate and a lampshade frame to up-cycle (panel lampshades as pictured, rather than barrel) or Jennifer will have them available to buy on the day for £4-£9.

A fabulous course which is very popular with Jennifer's students.

RUTH ISSETT

'Stitched Surfaces to Dye for'        11/12/13 May       £195 for 3 days

Ruth describes this course as a "fascinating course for anyone who wants to see the possibilities of dyed colour on different fabrics, threads, weaves and fibres. It is particularly enjoyed by stitchers, quilters, garment makers and those wanting to explore the what if! It is suitable for a wide range of abilities as well."

Using white or neutral fabrics create a variety of stitched surfaces using layers of non synthetic fabric and threads. Then paint them with dye, to create rich glowing stitched surfaces.

This course will include a selection of different layering, stitching and dyeing processes. In order to cover a range of techniques and ideas in the time, we will initially work on smaller pieces and then build more substantial pieces as the course progresses.

CLEARLY A COURSE FOR THE COLOURISTS OUT THERE.
