MATTHEW HARRIS

What a brilliant 3 days students had with Matthew. Such a great tutor, who very quickly was putting students through their paces offering one exercises after another.
Working with some script which was not their own, students carefully copied how the letters where formed , exploring a variety of media, from pen, graphite, inks and onto different surfaces of papers and fabrics and in so many different ways.
ENJOY!

DIS/ rupt

The  exhibition DIS/rupt by THE TEXTILE STUDY GROUP has now be at the The Minerva Arts Centre in Llanidloes, Powys for three weeks and has been enjoying a steady influx of visitors. With just two full weeks to go, please see if you can get to it while it is in the area of central Wales otherwise it will be a trip to Peebles in Scotland where it goes to next.

This touring exhibition examines the major disruption in our lives, from migration to rising sea levels, from wars to deforestation......and so much more. It is a most thought provoking exhibition which tackles the less 'pretty' aspects of living in our modern world. It is well worth a visit and some of the exhibits can not fail to bring a tear to your eye.

"a most thought provoking and touching exhibition......well worth the visit and I will be coming back"
