The Vlieseline Fine Art Textiles Award (FATA)

The Vlieseline Fine Art Textiles Award (FATA) is an international juried exhibition open to all amateur and practising artists using textiles as their medium. The Award recognises the creative talents and skills of a range of high-calibre artists and celebrates textiles' rightful place amongst high art.
The deadline has been extended to Wednesday 3rd June, allowing more time to enter into this prestigious award, which offers a first prize of £5,000 sponsored by Vlieseline and a runner up prize of £500 thanks to Her Quiet Materials.
The judging panel for 2020 is now confirmed as:
- Rosy Greenlees, Exec Director of the Crafts Council
- Richard McVetis, Artist
- Dr Sue Marks, British quilt historian / academic
- Jo Hall, writer, curator and editor of Embroidery Magazine
- Freddie Robins, Artist and Senior Tutor in Textiles at the Royal College of Art
Unfortunately the organisers have had to postpone The Festival of Quilts, to 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but shortlisted work will be exhibited at The Knitting & Stitching Shows in the autumn as planned.
